Buckle up, it's Safari time! A cult classic, the beloved Air Safari returns in rich leather and the original color palette. Back in the '80s, "fashion" was still considered a dirty word around Nike, but a young designer by the name of Tinker Hatfield showed up with an architectural background and some bold ideas. While in New York, Hatfield went to a swanky furniture store where he spotted a luxe ostrich leather sofa. Inspired by the distinct texture and patterning of the ostrich leather, Hatfield knew he had to bring that look to life in a modern sneaker. He sketched up some ideas, and the Air Safari was born. Welcome back to the origins of a true icon.
